ABOUT THE PROJECT
What is it about?
The Chime is the first worldwide network of shopkeepers offering free services to the most excluded. Its mission is to break social exclusion, empower citizens and improve excluded people's lives.
This network first started in France in 2015 by an award-winning initiative called “le Carillon” (from La Cloche). After being contacted by several citizens around the world, the latter created The Chime, to share their expertise and support similar initiatives elsewhere. Today, The Chime is operating in 7 countries and in 17 cities.
Creation date: 2014
Country of origin: FRANCE
Staff: 60 people
Shopkeepers in the network

La Cloche (French version of the Chime) has a sustainable business model. It relies on grants to sustain itself but also has self-generating revenues to complete its budget.
