What is it about?

We Love Reading (WLR) changes mindsets through reading to create changemakers. It is an innovative model that provides a practical, cost efficient, sustainable, grassroots approach empowering communities through activism of local volunteers to foster love of reading among children 0-12 by focusing on the readaloud experience in the native language to plant the love of reading for children to become lifelong learners.

Business model

We Love Reading is an NGO that has a sustainable business model. It relies on grants and donations from various sources to sustain itself while having other self-generating revenues.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Dr. Rana Dajani

Dr. Rana Dajani is a Jordanian molecular biologist, a multiple awarded scientist and entrepreneur, PhD professor, author, researcher, speaker and founder of We Love Reading.

 

Background & awards

  • Occupation: Visiting associate professor at Yale and Cambridge, Former center of studies Director at Hashemite University, member UN women Jordan advisory council, Author of the book: Five scarves, Doing the impossible: If we can reverse cell fate why cant we redefine success, Nova Publisher 2018, Speaker at TEDxDeadsea and TEDxPSUT, World Islamic Economic Forum 2012 and World Science Forum 2015 and 2017.

    • Awarded most influential women scientists in Islamic World, 12 among 100 most influential Arab women 2015, women in science hall of fame 2015,
